To celebrate Black History Month, News 12 New Jersey is highlighting some members of the Black community who make New Jersey great.
People like Justice Fabiana Pierre-Louis. She is the first Black woman to serve on the New Jersey State Supreme Court.
Pierre-Louis’s role on the court led to changes in how police in New Jersey do their jobs.
Her ruling made it so that police officers cannot pull someone over based on their race or gender.
