The Biden-Harris inauguration is less than a week away and is shaping up to be a star-studded event. Many artists will be performing, including some notable New Jersey residents.
Garden State rock ‘n’ roll icon Jon Bon Jovi is an outspoken supporter of President-elect Joe Biden, and sung at several campaign events. The New Jersey native is now among the headliners who will perform at the inaugural festivities.
Jennifer Lopez is set to perform at the ceremony, and Lady Gaga will sing the national anthem. Gaga tweeted that she is deeply honored to be a part of the inauguration.
The event has been scaled down due to the COVID-19 pandemic and security concerns. It will feature a 90-minute live program hosted that night by Oscar-winner Tom Hanks. The event, called “Celebrating America,” will be televised and streamed online.
Justin Timberlake will be performing “Better Days,” with co-writer and duet partner Ant Clemons, a Willingboro native.
Pop star Demi Lovato is also scheduled to perform. The Presidential Inaugural Committee - its events funded through private donations - says more artists are still to be announced.
The inaugural evening live program will include a tribute to COVID first responders.
