A beloved grey seal has died at the Marine Mammal Stranding Center.

The seal captured the hearts of the veterinary staff when he was rescued in Brigantine back in April.

He was being treated for a severe injury to his back flipper.

The seal passed away while under anesthesia.

Though the vet team worked hard to resuscitate him and are deeply saddened by the loss, they will continue to finish the procedure in hopes to educate veterinary students.
