A mother bear and her cub decided to pay a visit to the police chief's home in Rockaway Township Sunday.
The sighting took place at around 1 p.m. Police were called to the scene and chased the animals away. However, it wasn't the first time the two were spotted in the neighborhood.
"The cub was the size of a small dog, a cocker spaniel," says resident Elaine Bergeron. "The mother was much larger than a big dog."
Bear sightings in the area have increased, a trend residents attribute to more construction projects. Officials warn residents never to approach the animals, especially if the mother has a cub.
