Today is National Chocolate Chip Day. News 12’s Ali Reid was at Beans & Bread in Metuchen to celebrate.
“We're a bakery and we use a lot of chocolate chips. How can you not be excited about Chocolate Chip Day?” asked Beans & Bread’s co-founder Erik Diamond.
The bakery owners say they are celebrating the occasion with treats like peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and an endless variety of brownies.
The owners say events like Chocolate Chip Day is a fun way to keep the local community interested and involved in their business.
“I think right now we are really just focused on giving great customer service, serving great food and really being embedded into the community,” said Diamond.
News 12 also hit the town and passed out swag bags to people at the bakery.
“They had so much energy. It was so nice to see them back there and see friendly faces making an impact on the community,” said Diamond.
