New Jersey residents headed to the beach at Asbury Park to enjoy the last weekend of the summer.
People were scattered around the beach catching some rays of sun.
"Today is the end of the summer pretty much so why not enjoy a beautiful day at the beach," said one beachgoer.
Although surfers were trying to catch some waves, red flags were out to remind beachgoers that they shouldn't go in the water because of rough surf, dangerous rip currents and no lifeguards being on duty.
"With the temperature maybe being 80 degrees some people are probably going to want to go in but like I said it's just not a good idea to do that when there are no lifeguards on duty," said Asbury Park Beach Safety Supervisor Joe Bongiovanni.
Bongiovanni says they expect waves to drop, but rip currents will still make surfing dangerous.
