Those traveling to the Jersey Shore for Memorial Day weekend can expect to see some beach erosion due to last week?s nor?easter.
Beaches in Monmouth and Ocean counties lost 1-2 feet of their shoreline. Long Beach Island and Mantoloking suffered even more. One resident said that the gradual slope beach behind her cousin?s Mantoloking home is now a cliff.
"We had perfect access to the beach," said Carol Ann Kosimor, who had to use a rope to climb back up the 20-foot drop.
Other areas along the shore weren?t as severely damaged.
