Students at Bayonne High School participated in a drunk driving reenactment as a way to promote safe driving practices ahead of prom.
The Bayonne Board of Education worked with the city’s police, fire and ambulance services to set up the event. Students from the school’s drama club portrayed victims of a deadly drunk driving crash.
“It was actually a really terrifying experience, just being taken out of the car and hearing all of the noises,” said senior Jessica Garcia. “The firefighters just saying, ‘She’s gone,’ really hit me. I’ve never been through anything like this.
Over 600 Bayonne High School seniors watched the presentation.
