Bamboozle 2023, a multigenre music festival set to take place at Atlantic City’s Bader Field next week, has been canceled.
Atlantic City officials say that the festival organizers did not submit the proper documents on time. Officials set a deadline for April 27. The festival was supposed to take place May 5-7.
“There was an ongoing concern that we were not getting the required documents from festival organizers in a timely manner. We asked for this information months in advance to protect the city and the taxpayers of Atlantic City. The event was fast approaching, and these issues were still unresolved,” officials stated.
Officials said that the festival's attorneys acknowledged the deadline but did not request any extension, so the final permits were not issued.
Bamboozle 2023 posted on Instagram letting those who bought tickets know that it was canceled.
“After extensive discussions, we have made the heartbreaking decision to cancel Bamboozle 2023. An incredible amount of time, dedication, passion and hard work was invested into making this comeback a success. We appreciate everyone who supported this festival. Refunds should be requested at point of purchase,” the post stated.
Multiple acts were supposed to play over the three-day festival, including Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Mod Sun and New Jersey’s own Saves the Day.
This would have been the first time a Bamboozle festival was held since 2012 and would have marked 20 years since the initial festival was held.
