A backyard fire pit ban is now in effect in parts of New Jersey.
The state's Forest Fire Service imposed a series of fire restrictions in Hunterdon, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex and Warren counties.
The fire service says the recent stretch of dry weather has created a dangerous fire risk.
The ban will become stricter on Monday.
