Wednesday was the second day of classes at Spring Lake Heights Elementary School, and students from pre-K through eighth grade are using a hybrid system.

The gymnasium is being used as a cafeteria so the kids can be more spread out while they eat.
Overall, 78% of the students are in the building, while 22% are remote learning.
"Our biggest concern right now is making sure everybody is getting the education they deserve,” says Superintendent and Principal John Spalthoff. “We have 78% of our students in the building, we have 22% home on remote, so we're juggling that and making sure everybody is getting that full equitable education."
Residents supported a $10 million referendum last year, which led to all new HVAC units and other big upgrades.
