A new mother can breathe easy now that her baby was born safely, albeit in transit on Saturday.
Baby Nicholas was born in the car as his mother Esther Causene was being driven to the hospital. The driver was the mom?s cousin, Sarah Louissant.
According to Causene, baby Nick wasn?t due for another two weeks, but she went into labor and raced to the hospital Saturday.
Police pulled Louissant over for running three consecutive red lights to find out that she was trying to get her cousin to the hospital as soon as possible. Lt. Richard Tomshaw helped deliver baby Nick in the back of Louissant?s car and another officer supplied the medical equipment.
Nicholas Jacob Lett weighs 6 pounds, 3 ounces and is 19 inches long.
