Authorities say an SUV went into a Union County home following a crash, seriously injuring six people in the SUV.
Five children were among the injured.
The accident in Union Township occurred around 7:15 a.m. Friday along Vauxhall Road.
Authorities say the SUV and a car attempting to make a left turn collided. The SUV then struck two other vehicles before it hit the front of the home.
Neighbor Sergio Espinoza witnessed the accident and rushed to help those who were trapped inside the SUV.
“I was a big bang. As soon as we heard it…I ran straight to the car. Took out the kids. Took out the dad, took out everybody,” he says. “The dad was in shock. The kids, they were banged up. They were scared.”
The injured were being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries that were described as serious but not life-threatening. The children range in age from 6 to 18 years old.
Two people inside the home were not hurt, but they have been forced from the home because it sustained serious damage and is temporarily uninhabitable.
No charges have been filed so far, but authorities say the accident remains under investigation.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to give them a call.
