Authorities say a man leaped from a burning building in Paterson to his death during a fire that sent more than a dozen other people to the hospital.
Fire crews responded Saturday around 1:30 p.m. to the building.
According to NorthJersey.com, Andrés de Jesus Valdez, 30, had made it out of the burning building, but went back inside to help others.
Authorities say he became trapped on the second floor and plunged to his death.
St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center says it received 11 patients.
Fire officials say two city firefighters were being treated for smoke inhalation.
