Authorities say a New Jersey Transit train fatally struck a man at a crossing in Paterson.
According to NJ Transit spokesman Nathan Rudy, the man was hit Monday around 8:30 a.m.
His name has not been released.
The train was carrying equipment and no passengers.
Train service was temporarily suspended as officials investigated the scene.
Service resumed in the area around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday.
