Authorities say the Allen Road fire in Bass River State Forest has been contained.
That fire started burning Wednesday and has been called the largest wildfire in the state this year.
More than 5,000 acres burned and the smoky conditions closed a 25-mile section of the Garden State Parkway for three hours Friday morning.
Allen and Oswego roads are both still closed as crews clean up.
