(AP) - New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram says the recent arrest of two alleged female gang leaders during a crackdown on illegal drug sales in northern New Jersey illustrates a trend toward women in top spots.
Authorities have charged 25-year-old Iyesha Harrison of East Orange and 30-year-old Tyesha Stephens of Newark as leaders of a Bloods-affiliated gang that engaged in both "retail" street sales and "wholesale" sales of illicit drugs to other Bloods street gangs.
They're among 50 people arrested during a law enforcement sweepdubbed "Operation Bloodette."
