MOORESTOWN, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say an attempted home invasion ended when a resident stabbed two intruders, leaving one dead and the other injured.
The stabbings occurred around 12:20 a.m. Sunday at a Hartford Road home in Moorestown.
Burlington County prosecutors say the resident told police that two men had forced their way into the home. A struggle ensued and the resident said he stabbed both intruders.
Authorities say one of the intruders was pronounced dead at the scene. They were trying to determine if a man who sought treatment Sunday at a Willingboro hospital for a stab wound is connected to the attempted home invasion.
The names of the resident and the intruders have not been released.
No charges have been filed so far. But authorities say the incident remains under investigation.
