The 177th Fighter Wing, based at the Atlantic City Airport, said a suspicious incident led to the lockdown of the Air National Guard Base Saturday.
The unit tweeted that they got reports of gunshots during a base exercise. The investigation determined those shots were not part of that exercise.
They went into lockdown and later gave the all clear to resume normal operations.
State police said in a statement that the commercial side of Atlantic City International Airport was not locked down.
News 12 reached out to the Air Force for more information but have not heard back yet.
