A program that provides affordable housing for single women recovering from drug addiction has itself fallen on hard times.

The CEO of Epiphany House, Dr. Tony Comerford, tells News 12 New Jersey that a decrease in donations has forced him to raise the rent. In some cases, boarder's rent will double.

Dr. Comerford says that many services, including child care and transportation, rely heavily on donations. He says those services may be cut if the rent isn't brought up to federal Housing and Urban Development rates.

Dr. Comerford also said some women may have to double up with a roommate or transfer to Section 8 housing instead, if they qualify. Visit for more information
