Thousands of visitors will visit Jersey City this weekend for its annual art studio tour where they can view the work of a record 600 participating artists.
The entire community is putting on the tour with art exhibits being displayed at 80 different locations. With many of the exhibits highlighting local flare, Jersey City has the opportunity to show off its culture.
Exhibits include "People without Clothes," which will be showcased inside Canco Lofts. The exhibit doesn't actually feature naked people, just their clothing.
"Somebody just dropped their clothes and they're running around naked somewhere, so it's a person without clothes," says photographer Jan Kountiz. "Where? You've got to find them!"
Many of the artists will be opening their private studios to the public just for this weekend, giving visitors a chance to spend time talking to the artists in their own studios.
The tour kicks off Friday night with an opening party at the Canco Lofts near Journal Square. All events are free and open to the public.
