Excited crowds flocked to Jadwin Gymnasium Saturday night for the men's basketball game between the Princeton University Tigers and the University of Pennsylvania Quakers.
Princeton beat U Penn 77-70.
“The game was really good. [Xaivian] Lee was awesome. If it was up to me, he would shoot the ball 43 times again,” said Princeton fan Randy Baldwin.
The event was the first sold-out game at Princeton since 2002 when the Tigers took on Kansas.
The Tigers and the Quakers have a longstanding rivalry. One of the most memorable matchups was 25 years ago when Princeton beat Penn by just one point, 50-49.
“It was a little tight in the first half. I had confidence that our guys were going to come through,” said Princeton fan James Vreeland.
The next game in Princeton will be on Friday Feb. 16 when the Tigers take on Brown University.
