(AP) - Gov. Jon Corzine (D-N.J.) wins a round in hisfight to keep his e-mails private. A New Jersey appeals court ruled Monday that he can keep privatee-mails he and his staff exchanged with Carla Katz, a union leaderthe governor once dated. The Democratic governor has been fighting to keep thecorrespondence private since the e-mails were requested byRepublican State Committee Chairman Tom Wilson and several newsorganizations, including The Associated Press. Attorney General Anne Milgram argued that Corzine would not beable to govern effectively if his private communications were opento the public. GOP lawyer Mark Sheridan argued that the public has a right toview e-mails the governor's office and Katz exchanged during stateworker contract talks. A trial court judge ordered the e-mails released, but Corzineand Katz appealed. An appeal to the state Supreme Court is anticipated.Appeals court examines Corzine e-mail privacy
