Firefighters responded to a four-alarm fire at an apartment complex on Andrew Street in Bayonne Wednesday.
Officials say they responded to the fire around 1:30 a.m.
They say all 15 residents made it out safely, but are now displaced.
The deputy fire chief says the flames tore through two apartment buildings. It started in number 78 and spread to 76, reaching all five floors.
Firefighters saved several animals, but say seven cats could not be rescued.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
