The NYPD is conducting an internal investigation after another video has surfaced purportedly showing another officer using a chokehold on a suspect.
Police say the video was taken as officers arrested a young man for not paying a train fare at an East Harlem subway station.
They say the incident happened on July 14, three days before Staten Island man Eric Garner died while in police custody. The video depicting Garner's incident shows officers putting him in what appears to be chokehold, which is banned under NYPD policy. The officer involved in this case has since been placed on modified duty.
Rev. Al Sharpton and Garner's family were in Brooklyn today to demand a civil rights investigation into the death.
