A decision from nearly a decade ago is now causing a shortage.
There was a glut of overproduction, causing many growers to stop planting for a while.
Shoppers' best bet is to get a tree early.
Hemlock Hardware says recent orders are still incomplete because they're missing about 20-25% of trees that are stuck in container ships.
Local businesses say their supply of Christmas trees will be out and ready to grab by the week of Thanksgiving.
