NJ Transit says an Amtrak train derailed at Penn Station in New York Saturday morning.
Traffic was affected since about 7 a.m. Several trains operated on a delay.
On Twitter, Amtrak's account wrote, "Train 89 is currently operating about 45min late due to an unforeseen mechanical issue while departing NYP that has since been corrected."
NJ Transit says customers will transfer to PATH to continue service to Penn Station.
NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are being cross honored by PATH at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street as well as NJ Transit buses and private carriers.
