Triple Crown-winner American Pharoah is expected to bring big business to the Jersey Shore when he races at the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park on Aug. 2.
A record-breaking 60,000 people are expected to attend the race, and hotels in the area are booked solid.
Khushbu Kansara, an assistant front desk manager at the La Quinta Inn on Route 36 in West Long Branch, says all 98 rooms at the hotel were booked five weeks ago.
Kansara says the hotel is within walking distance to Monmouth Park, so it will be easy for guests to attend the race.
New Jersey Transit will be adding additional stops at the track on race day to accommodate all the people expected to attend.
