AG: Bergen County bank robbery suspect also accused of Paterson DPW arson

Police say Jonathan Gardner was arrested in Paramus on Sunday. He had called police claiming he fought off an attacker after being held at knife point in a Dunkin' Donuts parking lot.

A New York man accused of pretending to be a robbery victim while being a burglary suspect now faces accusations of arson.
Police say Jonathan Gardner was arrested in Paramus on Sunday. He had called police claiming he fought off an attacker after being held at knife point in a Dunkin' Donuts parking lot. Police say this was fabricated and that Gardner was actually attempting to break into a nearby bank.
Now, the Attorney General's Officehas charged Gardner with setting fire to the Paterson Public Works building this past weekend. Exclusive News 12 video appears to show Gardner walking away from the burning building and pouring gas onto the parking lot.
Gardner faces charges of aggravated arson, burglary, criminal mischief.
