Life is a big adventure to 4-year-old Roxie Hart. This loving, playful pup has spent more than 730 days at SAVE, a Friend to Homeless Animals in Skillman. Volunteers say she's been at the shelter longer than any other dog.
According to SAVE, one of Roxie's favorite things to do in summer is splash around in a pool. They refer to her as "a water dog through and through," and if you throw a tennis ball or a floating toy in the water, she'll "paddle and splash with pure joy."
Roxie's perfect home is one with a fenced-in yard and no other pets. Volunteers say she's extremely fearful of other dogs since being attacked by another dog. She would love a family who likes to play, cuddle, go for long car rides and walks.
So far, Roxie has mastered some basic commands such as sit, touch and down. She weighs in at about 50 pounds. She's spayed and in good health.
