AAA has vowed to continue its legal battle after a federal judge ruled against a temporary block on a recent toll hike.
AAA says it believes money from the toll increase is funding construction at the World Trade Center.
AAA spokesman Robert Sinclair says it is against the law for the Port Authority to spend that money on anything unrelated to transportation. Sinclair says that as the case continues, the Port Authority will be forced to release documents showing the money trail. He says he's confident that AAA will ultimately prevail.
AAA says if it does win its case and manages to get the tolls rolled back, then commuters could be looking at a pretty hefty refund.
When news of the lawsuit first broke last year, the Port Authority stated the suit was without merit.
