For 21 years, Long Islanders have come out to remember those who died on Sept. 11 and honor people who died of related illnesses after the terror attacks.

Tobay Beach was filled with relatives of 9/11 victims, along with people from the town who were honoring their memory on Thursday.

Those who died on 9/11 are etched in the memorial and three more people who died of 9/11-related illnesses after the terror attacks were added to the wall of honor.

Rosemary Cain helped read the names of those who died at the Twin Towers, including her son FDNY firefighter George Cain.

"God bless every one of you - I pray for you to have a happy and a peaceful anniversary - and God bless the one that you lost," Cain says.

Gerald F. Erikson, Irwin (Jimmy) Reich and Arlene Zuzzolo were added to the wall of honor after dying from 9/11-related illnesses.

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino says it is important to honor those lost on 9/11 and afterwards.

"In the town of Oyster Bay, we will never forget," Saladino says.

A tribute in light could also be seen beaming into the sky representing the Twin Towers.
