With the prospect of a smoking ban in Atlantic City’s casinos looking like it won’t happen any time soon, some casino workers took matters into their own hands to make a point.
Members of the United Auto Workers Union disrupted a state Assembly committee meeting on Thursday. Seven workers lit up cigarettes during the meeting.

The committee was scheduled to vote on the smoking ban, but the vote was canceled Wednesday night.
State troopers escorted the seven workers out of the meeting and they were released without facing any charges.
It was not clear when or if a new vote would take place.
