A thresher shark was found washed up on the Eighth Avenue beach in Belmar Wednesday afternoon.
The 6-foot shark was found dead by beachgoers just after 4 p.m. They say the shark had some type of injury by its mouth.
Earlier this week, the shark was spotted swimming close to shore.
