(AP) - Newark police say five people have been hurtin a shooting at a housing complex in the city's West Ward.
Initial reports indicate that one person was hit in the chestand seriously wounded. Four others had less serious injuries.
All have been taken to University Hospital.
There was no immediate word on what prompted the shooting orwhether an arrest has been made.
The shooting occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday at GeorgiaKing Village, a 422-unit housing complex with townhouses and two18-story towers.
It was the third multiple shooting in Newark in less than aweek. Three people were wounded Sunday in a shooting outside theRobert Treat Hotel downtown. On Friday, seven people were woundedin a shooting at a bar.
