Police say five people were shot and wounded Saturday in Jersey City, including a 16-year-old girl.

Authorities say the shootings happened between Bergen and Claremont avenues hours after the city buried Detective Marc DiNardo, who died after being wounded during a shootout in Jersey City last week. Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy says the flow of illegal weapons from other states into Jersey City must be stopped.

The five victims were taken to Jersey City Medical Center in stable condition and are expected to fully recover. Police say the motive of the shootings is still unclear.
