Three children and two adults were injured at a Branchburg daycare center after a car crashed into its playground Wednesday.
Trupti Gaonkar, 40, was picking her daughter up from KinderCare when she lost control of her car and plowed through the daycare's fence into the play area. At the time of the crash, 30 children were outside playing.
According to police, one of the children had to be airlifted to the hospital due to her injuries. The other four were not seriously hurt.
"Her leg got caught underneath the car upon impact," says Sgt. Ken Kaczorek. "The driver of the vehicle moved the car backwards to get the vehicle off the child's leg."
Police are still investigating the accident and are not sure whether charges will be filed against Gaonkar.
