Four people now arrested in connection to a high-profile, gunpoint robbery that left a FedEx driver zip tied earlier this month.
Police say over $500,000 worth of cologne and perfume was stolen on Sept. 5. They say the suspects threatened the FedEx driver at gunpoint forcing him to drive to a nearby parking lot on Ethel Road.
From there they say the driver was zip tied and the suspects stole the truck loaded with numerous cases of valuable perfume along with the driver's phone.
Authorities say the driver freed himself after 10 minutes and called police using his Apple Watch.
Two weeks later on Sept. 19, Juan Julião Castanos, 30, of Paterson, was arrested at Newark International Airport.
That same night, Nengly Sanchez Espaillat, 32, and Jhonatan Gregorio Castillo, 34, both of Paterson, were apprehended. Through a search warrant police say they recovered over 2,269 bottles of high-value fragrances.
On Thursday, a fourth individual was taken into custody. He is identified as Oscar Lizardo Lopez, 43, of Basking Ridge.
Police believe the gun involved was recovered.
The four suspects face several charges including armed robbery, kidnapping, unlawful possession of a handgun, theft over $75,000, and criminal conspiracy.
They are currently at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending detention hearings.
