Unemployment numbers in the Garden State are beginning to show signs of improvement.

About 33% fewer people in New Jersey applied for unemployment last week compared to the week before.

More than 25,800 people still applied for new benefits.

The state says it has paid out more than $11.6 billion to workers in the past four and a half months.
