A 3-year-old girl died after been pulled from a backyard pool Thursday in Englewood Cliffs.
Police say officers responded to a report about a missing child around 2:06 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found the girl unresponsive in the pool.
She was rushed to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and pronounced dead.
The Englewood Cliffs Police Department expressed their condolences to the family and recognized the efforts of responders in a press release announcing the news.
“There are no words that can adequately express the heartbreak of losing a child,” it read. “This tragedy has deeply affected everyone involved, and our thoughts and prayers remain with the family.”
