(AP) - Firefighters have rescued three men whowere stranded on a malfunctioning scaffold on the side of aJersey City skyscraper.
Authorities say the trio were stuck between the 32nd and 33rdfloors of a building on Washington Street due to anunspecified mechanical problem.
Armando Roman, director of the Jersey City Fire and EmergencyServices Department, says they were pulled to safety at about 4:30p.m. Friday. They were stranded for about 90 minutes.
The scaffold is the type typically utilized by window washers.
Jersey City is New Jersey's second-largest city and is locatedacross the Hudson River from lower Manhattan.
