Three people were arrested in connection to a plot to kill an Asbury Park police officer.

Asbury Park police say the investigation began after alleged Blood gang member Salik Hinton told several people he was plotting to kill an officer.

With the help of other local authorities, Hinton was arrested on weapons and drug charges Friday.

Another man and a woman were also arrested.
