A three-alarm fire at a two-family condo in Clifton was
brought under control Saturday afternoon by emergency responders.
The fire broke out at the Riverwalk Condos around 2 p.m. Approximately
100 firefighters responded to the scene and are continuing to check for hot
spots. Investigators are trying to find what sparked the blaze.
Firefighters described the fire as racing up along the side
rear of the building, which made it easier to quell the flames. They also said
the smoke was heavy.
The brunt of the damages was on the back side of the two-
family building, which was destroyed.
Residents in adjacent apartments were evacuated. Only one
person was treated for smoke inhalation.
Approximately eight families have been displaced.
