A man has been arrested for attempted robbery after an argument at a Nassau County business Monday evening.

Nassau Police Fifth Squad officers responded to a call for a disturbance around 5:30 p.m. at a North Valley Stream automotive shop.

According to detectives, Paul Herbert, 34, of Elmont, got into a verbal dispute with another man over his dissatisfaction with the service that was provided to his vehicle.

As the disagreement escalated, Herbert got a box cutter out of his car and began using it to threaten the 60-year-old victim to give him his money back for the work.

The shop worker, in fear of his life, called police to come to the scene where the man was placed under arrest.

Herbert is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge of attempted robbery in the first degree in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
