Woman dead, baby critically injured after apparent fall from terrace in The Bronx

The child was rushed to the hospital where they remain critical condition.

A woman is dead and a baby girl is fighting for their life after fall from a terrace in Allerton section of The Bronx, police.

Police say they responded here to 2550 Olinville Ave. at around 3:38 a.m. Tuesday. An unidentified 23-year-old woman and a baby girl were found with injuries appearing to be caused from a fall from an elevated position.

Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The baby was rushed to the hospital where they remain critical condition.

Nes 12 first learned of this incident after a woman called our newsroom in tears saying she believed a woman jumped off the buildings terrace with a baby.

Officer say they are now working to determine whether the woman jumped or if foul play was involved.
