Ducklings reunited with worried moms following rescues in Westport and Danbury
Just before 8:30 a.m., Westport firefighters responded to Wilton Road after a business owner found several ducklings trapped in a storm drain. Then, around two hours later in Danbury, Veolia employees at the city's John Oliver Memorial Sewer Treatment Plant rescued 10 ducklings.

Just before 8:30 a.m., Westport firefighters responded to Wilton Road after a business owner found several ducklings trapped in a storm drain. Firefighters say their mother was nearby.
Crews rescued four ducklings and reunited them with their anxious mother.
Then, around two hours later in Danbury, Veolia employees at the city's John Oliver Memorial Sewer Treatment Plant rescued 10 ducklings from the wastewater treatment facility's clarifier tank.
An employee first heard an adult female duck frantically quacking near the outfall of the tank.
Employees say the tank where the ducklings were is the last in a series of clarifiers used during the final process to ensure clean and treated liquid outflow from the plant is ready for disinfection and safe discharge into the environment.
A second employee scooped up the distressed ducklings with a net and reunited them with a happy momma duck.
Veolia says while duck rescues are not common, they have rescued deer in the past from their stormwater channel.
