Three Newark men have pleaded guilty for their roles in the violent kidnapping and murder of a 27-year-old man whose body was dumped along a North Jersey highway four years ago.
New Jersey State Police identified the suspects as Mustafa Manns, 28; William Dixon, 34; and Nishir Rios-Figueroa, 30. All three Newark residents faced a raft of charges, including murder, kidnapping and multiple related offenses, after shooting and killing a fellow Newark resident before hiding his remains.
The investigation began Thursday, August 18, 2022, at approximately 12:26 p.m., when State troopers responded to a report along I-80 in Warren County.
A New Jersey Department of Transportation employee cutting grass along the shoulder of the highway uncovered human remains near a wooded area off milepost 16.6 in Allamuchy Township.
Detectives took over the investigation and identified the deceased victim as Quadree Burch, 27, of Newark.
Before the roadside discovery, Burch had been the subject of an active search. Family and friends officially reported him missing out of Newark on August 9, 2022—just over a week before his remains were uncovered.
The investigation revealed that Burch had been targeted, kidnapped and executed before the trio transported his body up the interstate to dump it on the side of the highway. With the recent guilty pleas, all three men now face significant prison time for the coordinated slaying.
