A 17-year-old Elizabeth resident has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that left a 15-year-old boy dead, authorities announced Wednesday.

The juvenile was arrested June 8 and charged with aggravated manslaughter, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police responded to a residence on Florida Street at about 10:15 p.m. on June 5 following a report of a shooting. Officers found a 15-year-old male suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
