Bijou, an American pit bull terrier, is a friendly, affectionate 3-year-old in need of a "furever" home.
Currently being cared for by Rescue Haven, Bijou is described by volunteers as "a certified cuddle bug who loves being near her people and has never met a stranger she didn't adore." Rescue Haven workers say Bijou "lives for closeness" and loves affection.
Bijou is active but also loves settling in with a chew toy. Volunteers say she's also well-behaved and knows a few basic commands including sit, paw, down, wait and "leave it." She's a treat-motivated pup who is also eager to learn new things. She also has a lot of "puppy energy" and is alert and curious during walks but can be redirected by a treat.
Rescue Haven says her perfect home would be one where her family can provide her with physical exercise and engagement as well as cuddles and affection. She would do well in a home with older children. She's good with other dogs, but not cats and is crate trained.
Bijou is also spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
