A man is dead after a shooting during a birthday gathering Saturday night at a Pemberton Township park.

Authorities say the incident unfolded after an altercation broke out at the party in Bayberry Park.

Pemberton Township police took the victim who was shot to Capital Health at Deborah Emergency Department, where he was pronounced dead around 11:30 p.m.

The Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Sunday and it confirmed the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds.

A description of the person or persons responsible, or whether any arrests had been made were not immediately known as of Sunday evening.

The Pemberton Township Police Department urges anyone with information about the shooting to give them a call at their tip line at 609-894-3352 or send an email to tips@co.burlington.nj.us.
